PAUL LEWIS
(Trustee and Chair)
Paul worked in publishing for nearly 40 years both in the UK and Australia before undertaking a Music Therapy course at UWE which he completed in 2012. He subsequently volunteered at The Warneford Hospital, bringing music as a therapy to adult patients. He has been a befriender with Tandem since 2014. He is passionate about music and sings with Oxford Pro Musica Singers.
TREVOR LOWE
(Trustee)
Trevor worked in mental health for the NHS for over 30 years, in clinical and teaching roles. Currently he is involved in working with groups in Europe and Ghana, which promote recovery through sport and social activities. His hobbies include cricket and learning the banjo.
SOPHIE FENWICK
(Trustee)
“Sophie has spent the last fifteen years fundraising in the charity sector, working with organisations ranging from major international charities to small local ones. She grew up in Oxfordshire, so is delighted to be joining Tandem as a Trustee to help strengthen its fundraising. A lifelong nature enthusiast, she can often be found exploring reserves or bird watching in her spare time.”
ANNA CHAPPELL
Trustee and Treasurer
Anna was welcomed as Tandem Trustee and Treasurer at the June 2024 AGM.
She is a finance professional with almost 20 years experience in academic publishing. In her spare time Anna is a keen cyclist and lover of live music.
PRUE SYKES
(Trustee)
Prue worked with Oxfordshire Mind for many years as a Development Worker. After a chance meeting in the street in 1999, Prue took part in the birth of Tandem, and says it has been a huge pleasure to work, for over twenty years, with so many great people – service users, volunteers
and committee members.
LIZ SHATFORD
(Trustee)
Liz was six years as Treasurer of Tandem until handing over to Anna in 2024. She qualified as an architect and then urban designer at the Oxford School of Architecture. Since retiring early from working as an architect, for The Vale of White Horse and then Oxford City Council, she retrained as a domiciliary podiatrist. She has also been employed as the Parish Clerk for Sandford on Thames.
BELINDA JACK
(Trustee)
Belinda is a Fellow of Christ Church, and teaches French literature and language. She is the author of several books.
She has long had an interest in mental health, and joined Tandem as a Trustee two years ago.
She enjoys travelling when it is possible (not surprisingly, most often to France!).
Heli has worked in various community and charity projects
in the Isle of Bute in Scotland.
She is responsible for all the day-to-day running of Tandem
